Description
This exquisitely handmade pen is created from one of America’s most historic trees. It’s a one-of-a-kind present for a friend, CEO, history enthusiast, or family member. This handcrafted masterpiece preserves a piece of American heritage.
The last of thirteen Horse-Chestnut Trees planted by George Washington on Fauquier Street in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, this tree was declared “America’s Historic Horse-Chestnut Tree” in 1926. Washington planted these trees to represent each of the thirteen colonies and to offer shade for his mother, Mary, and sister, Betty, as they went to and from their respective residences, which were just a short distance apart. This national treasure ultimately succumbed to age and had to be removed in 2004.
